Hey there! As a busy mom, I'm always looking for ways to make my life easier. And one thing that's been a big time-saver for me is not folding my kids' clothes (and some of mine too!). I know it might sound a little weird, but hear me out.
My kids were constantly rifling through their drawers to find the clothes they wanted to wear, undoing all my hard work. It was frustrating to spend time folding clothes, only to have them disheveled a few minutes later. Plus, most kids don't really care if their clothes are perfectly folded. They just want to grab something and go, right?
I can understand if you're thinking, "Won't not folding clothes make them super wrinkly?" But honestly, that hasn't been my experience. And it's not like their drawers are overflowing with clothes either. My kids have their favorite items, and they'll wear them over and over again.
The less clothes you have in their drawers, the less likely they are to get really wrinkly. And if they do get a little wrinkled, it's not a big deal. Most wrinkles will smooth out as the clothes are worn throughout the day. And let's be real, PJs are for sleeping anyways!
This realization has actually helped me save money by cutting back on buying them new clothes. It's frustrating to spend money on something they never wear or grow out of before getting a chance to wear it. By letting them wear their favorite pieces on repeat, I'm able to ensure they get good use out of everything in their wardrobe.
Of course, there are a few items that I do fold and hang, like dress clothes or anything that needs to be ironed. And, I do have drawer dividers in the deeper drawers to help keep things a little more organized. But overall, not folding my kids' clothes has been a small but effective way to simplify my life. And as busy moms, isn't that what we're all trying to do?
